Headquartered in Palm Springs, CA, the DPCC operates on the principal of providing direct services,
educating the public and organizing for social change.
With a focus on the needs of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community,
the Desert Pride Community Center, also known as, "a place to call home", addresses
the necessity to create a healthy & vibrant environment which allows LGBT people to represent
themselves in an affirmative atmosphere.
Further, our program areas include healthy families,
civic leadership and education, arts and culture, computer training and educational workshops;
and public meeting space to help our community grow and flourish.
Major Grant Funds New Computer Lab at the Center
Through the generosity of the David Bohnett Foundation,
the Desert Pride Community Center has been gifted a complete
state-of-the-art computer lab. The David Bohnett Cyber Centers,
located in 54 cities throughout the U.S., offer free access to
the Internet and computer classes for the traditionally underserved
LGBT community. The Cyber Centers also serve as a hub for educational
opportunities for seniors and youth. The mission is to provide software
training, classes and Internet access inside a comfortable, informal environment.
